How to Use iFillCup Pods
Each pod includes a cup, pleated filter, and a polypropylene film lid; no assembly required. This makes them simple to use.
Here are tips and tricks for how to get the most out of your pods, from beans to brew:
Grind your beans! We recommend a grind level of 350 microns, or slightly finer than granulated sugar. The strong polypropylene filter in iFillCup pods allows you to use finer grinds than in a typical pod for better extraction and a fuller flavor.
- Don’t go too fine; you still need the water to flow through the coffee, so we recommend sticking with a 350-450 micron range.
Fill the pod! Gently add your coffee into the pod. iFillCup pods have an extra deep filter, which means you can put more in here than the average pod. A good estimate is to up to the crease in the filter, or 10-13 grams of coffee. It’ll depend on the roast level and density of your coffee.
- Don’t pack it in there; the water still needs to easily flow through it and get all that good flavor out.
Seal it up! Make sure there aren’t any coffee grounds on the rim of the cup or the edge of the lid. Close the lid and press it until you feel a *snap*. This will only take about 20 lbs of pressure. Press the lid of the pod against a smooth flat surface for extra sealing power! The SmartSeal will keep the coffee fresh for a long time, so feel free to fill up a bunch in advance and keep them ready to go throughout the week.
- Check the seal strength by squeezing the pod to pop the lid up slightly; if it’s a good seal, you’ll see a continuous web of adhesive between the rim of the cup and the lid.

Brew the coffee! The pod should fit just fine in your Keurig brewer, but check our brewer compatibility list if you’re not sure. Choose your preferred size of brew. Since our pod holds more coffee, you can experiment with larger brews and adjust fill weight and grind size to dial in your preferred flavor.
Enjoy! Let us know how much you enjoyed your coffee in our pods, and feel free to get in touch with questions and comments.
To recycle, just point the lid of a used iFillCup pod into a trash can and pinch the cup until the lid opens. Tap the cup to loosen and remove the used grounds as needed. Then rinse and recycle.
- Not all recycling facilities are able to process it, so check locally to make sure!

Selected by the world’s best artisan roasters for their delicately crafted beans, iFillCup pods have
- The ONLY Pleated Polypropylene (PP) Filter in the Industry – Unlike the paper filters used in Green Mountain®, Peet’s®, and Starbucks® single serve pods*, the PP filter does not absorb delicate flavors, unlocking the full flavor profile of artisan crafted beans. The unique pleats of our PP filter enable complete extraction of all the ground coffee in the cup and prevent the well-known “Channeling” in other single serve cups.
- The LARGEST Filter in the Single-Serve Coffee Market – Our patents-pending DeepBrew™ design and super-strong PP filter enable you to add up to 50% more coffee, or as much as 15 grams, for a richer brew or a larger mug.
- The ONLY Pod made of 100% RECYCLABLE materials in the Single-Serve Market – Unlike other recyclable serve pods in which only the cup is recyclable, iFillCup® pods use the same #5 Recyclable PP not only for the cup, but also for the lid and filter. Not recyclable in all areas; check your local recycling facilities.
- The Patents-Pending SmartSeal™ – Our innovative SmartSeal™ provides a strong seal between the lid and cup that locks in the freshness. After brewing, the seal can be opened to allow you to discard the used coffee grounds.
